OK GO!

I’ve been off work for four days (it’s Friday today) with a hacking chesty cough and all the hallmarks of the flu bar the sweats. Everything else — the shakes, fever, the aches and pains — is there.

Again:

No voice, mild cough, lethargy.

I’ve been off work for a week as of this post.

Viral laryngitis.

No voice, lethargy, off work for a week and a day. Ouch.

Caught whatever nasty-ass (literally) gastro bug took the Brauneggs out last week.

Cold tending to sinus infection over the long weekend.

Would have stayed home from work if there wasn’t time-critical everything happening right now. Just starting to feel normal now.

Same as last time.
Nasty flu/stomach bug.

Grrr…

Finally got gotten by Melbourne’s worst gastro outbreak in history. They’ve close all the public pools to jack up the chlorination.

Line of business planning is over, too. I think that means I’ve officially survived.

Something unusual happened today. Fee, Mae and Claire had a date at which I was not required — and I got a leave pass for the hours before. I quickly lined up a ride with Neil. The brief nothing more than make it north of a hundred k, with a bias toward long steady climbs.

I prepped the bike, made drinks, laid everything out for the morning and woke up with a screaming headache. Full on, hurts to move, photophobic, right in the back of your eyeballs, across the top of your scalp and down into your ears, head-splitting throb.

I messaged Neil: I am unwell. Sorry.

Since then it’s turned into a beautiful day. The kind of day that’d be really nice for a ride in the hills.

After sleeping almost all day yesterday, I went to bed and slept really well again. Woke up still feeling sleepy and decided to take another day off to recover properly. Good call, and feeling much better for it.

I also stopped in at ol’ GymCo at the end of the street and bought a couple of rubber hex dumbbells so that I can get back to Bastards at home. I could only afford one set, so it was choice between a pair of 10s or a pair of 12.5s.

Stay tuned to find out which got the nod.

Got up. Got dressed. Felt cold and tired. Considered going to work anyway but thought better of it, went back to bed and slept all day. Literally. All day.
